At our Vocational School, an online conference on "Urban Transformation" was held on Monday, April 3, 2023. Our Deputy Director of the Vocational School, Lecturer Murat ERTİLAV, Head of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning Assoc. Dr. Ünal DEMİRER, department faculty members, and our students attended the conference.
The conference was attended by the 2nd Chairman of the Antalya Branch of the Chamber of Survey and Cadastre Engineers and the personnel of the Antalya Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization, Senior Survey Engineer Serter Kocababa, who, after a general explanation on the topic of Urban Transformation, answered the following questions posed by the conference moderator, Lecturer Zafer KÖSE.
1. What is the main purpose of the law on the transformation of areas under disaster risk, numbered 6306?
2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of urban transformation?
3. How can we benefit from urban transformation? Does the citizen benefiting from it incur any cost?
4. Will buildings that are not in the first-degree earthquake zone or old buildings be able to benefit from the law?
5. How will risky buildings be identified?
6. Is it more appropriate for urban transformation applications to be done on a building basis or on a regional basis?
7. How many months and how much rental assistance will be provided for the owners?
Kocababa talked about how important and prioritized urban transformation is for our country. After answering questions from students and faculty members, the conference ended.
